Cerris Systems was selected during the early schematic design phase of this project to complete the mechanical preconstruction, BIM, fabrication, and construction of the plumbing and HVAC scope for the expansion project at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
New construction consisted of 521,000 SF and featured the construction of 72 intensive care patient rooms, 72 general nursing care patient rooms, and 32 new OR surgery and Preoperative function and support rooms on two floors, complete with an interstitial mechanical space above the surgery department. It also included a new main entry lobby, a generator enclosure, and Cancer Care support functions like Urgent Care and Tumor Registry. New guest lounges and Prep and PACU services for the Cath Labs were also part of the new construction scope.
Renovations were completed for 96,000 SF on the campus and included cosmetic renovations to the public corridors on the first and second levels of the existing hospital. The Dietary, labs, and Materials Management departments received expansions in the basement. The Central Sterile Processing department relocated to the basement of the new tower, and the Imaging department received miscellaneous renovations and expansions.
